The first WPHOA evaluation session of the year took place on Tuesday, July 30th at the Bethel Park Bladerunners. After an on-ice warm-up, the attendees displayed their abilities in both referee and linesmen total package drills. The participants then completed a skating circuit similar to USA Hockey's Level 4 skating test. The members were individually filmed during each of these drills, which the WPHOA Evaluation Staff can use to make a better determination on roster assignments and provide a written critique to each official.  The videos will also be shared with each respective skater for their personal review and to compare against future videos to observe how their skating may change over time.

The final on-ice activity of the evening was a game of "Ice Ball" between the striped shirts and the solid black team. The solid black team jumped out to an early 3-0 lead but allowed 3 unanswered goals by striped shirts to force the game to end in a competitive and enjoyable 3-3 tie.

The session then moved into the classroom, where WPHOA RIC Dave Fryer conducted an ACHA rules seminar.
